Churchill Area Neighbors (C.A.N.) is your city-recognized and sponsored Neighborhood Organization.  We represent a direct link between you, the diverse citizens of the Churchill Area, and the city of Eugene.  We are not a homeowner’s association.

Run by neighborhood volunteers, we work on issues around land use, transportation, equity, and general livability affecting the neighbors in our area.  If you rent a home or own one, or you have a business in CAN, you are a member and are entitled to vote for board members, ask the board to focus on certain areas, and also volunteer. 

The Churchill Area Neighbors shall advise the City Council, Planning Commission, and other City boards, commissions, and officials on all matters affecting the neighborhood. The Churchill Area Neighbors shall address all matters which affect the neighborhood in accordance with the City of Eugene’s Neighborhood Organization Recognition Policy, Resolution No. 2554, as amended by Resolution No. 3746. The Churchill Area Neighbors shall develop proposals with respect to issues affecting the area as it sees fit. 

The Churchill Area Neighbors shall educate the citizens of the neighborhood and facilitate communication between the area residents on matters of common concern.

The Churchill Area Neighbors shall exercise the powers granted to it and allowed by the Eugene Neighborhood Organization Recognition Policy, Resolution No 2554, as amended by Resolution No. 3746, as is necessary and appropriate.
